It's surprising that the Tianquan of the Liyue Qixing is a 4-star, considering her importance in the story. If players give this lady a chance, they will find that Ningguang is actually a decent DPS. People can play her as a support, buffer, healer, Burst DPS, or main DPS. However, of course, each role requires specific build.

Gameplay Difficulty

If Ningguang is the main DPS, players will quickly realize that her hits are clunky. After hitting her Normal Attack, Ningguang's Charged Attack often comes with some degree of delay, making the performance unpleasant. When compared to other similar units like Yanfei, Ningguang will feel even clunkier.

Ningguang's Jade Screen is one of the most important part of her gameplay. However, like typical Geo Constructs, it'll break if it hits an obstacle, which will cause players to lose some DPS from Ningguang's passive and Burst. This means players have to learn how to properly place Ningguang's Jade Screen.

The Tianquan has to walk through the Screen to gain Geo DMG Bonus, and later on, Jade Screen's existence will increase the DMG of her Burst.

 

Building Difficulty

Since there's no dedicated set for Ningguang, players can simply mix any offensive artifacts like 2pc ATK +18%, 2pc Archaic Petra, or 2pc Noblesse Oblige

Role Flexibility

Ningguang can fulfill many roles, such as:

  • main DPS: Any offensive equipment
  • Burst DPS: Any offensive equipment
  • healer: Prototype Amber Catalyst
  • Buffer: Thrilling Tales of Dragon Slayers + 4pc Noblesse Oblige or 4pc Archaic Petra

Ningguang is a great character for most World Bosses thanks to her Geo Element and ranged hits. The Tianquan can hit hovering Hypostasis, or use Geo to break Elemental cores.
