Scaramouche (Wanderer)

Anemo Catalyst

One incarnation and many rumors later, Scaramouche was finally released in version 3.3. Wanderer earned himself an Anemo Vision and uses Catalyst as his weapon of choice. In combat, he performs best as a main DPS that deals Anemo DMG in a decent range and AoE. Other than for battle, Scaramouche is also a great unit to have for exploration. His Elemental Skill allows players to hover over some open-world obstacles easily.

Gameplay Difficulty

Scaramouche's play style may seem simple in theory, but in practice, players have to get accustomed to how he moves. First, before casting his Elemental Skill, players have to ensure there's proper Elements to activate his Ascension passive. Second, Wanderer's Kuugoryoku Points should not be wasted by sprinting or jumping. At the same time, players should also learn when to sprint and how to dodge enemy's hits while flying. It's also crucial to understand the opponent's hitbox and which attack Scaramouche should avoid.

Additionally, if players uses Desert Pavilion Chronicle artifact, they must remember to use Charged Attack before attacking normally.

All in all, a lot of practice is required when using Wanderer.

Building Difficulty

Fortunately, building Wanderer isn't as hard as playing him. Players can use any offensive Catalyst, especially those that enhances Normal Attack and Elemental DMG. He also works with several different artifacts.

Team Composition Flexibility

Scaramouche can fit in many different team comps. He works great in a reaction team, and also does well in a mono team.

Role Flexibility

Wanderer can be a driver and Burst DPS, but his best role remains the main DPS.

Scaramouche has little to no restrictions against weekly bosses.

Scaramouche loses a little of his Swirl potential and the ability to properly trigger Elemental reactions, but in a mono team, he's as good as ever.

Considering Spiral Abyss' constant changes, Scaramouche likely won't have a place in every rotation. He's great against smaller enemies thanks to his decent AoE, but he's not as good against bigger enemies and Spiral Abyss bosses.
