Like some other Dendro characters in Genshin Impact, Yaoyao was also one of the most anticipated as they teased this character an eternity ago in an official image with Qiqi. However, her identity was never confirmed until shortly before her release in Genshin Impact 3.4.
She becomes the first Dendro healer in the game, which is amazing considering Bloom teams were locked with Hydro healers like Kokomi before Yaoyao’s release. Yaoyao is also a great Dendro enabler for other reactions like Quicken, which makes her one of the most useful healers in the game. When it comes to Yaoyao build in Genshin Impact, players can either choose a healer build or a Bloom DPS setup.

Yaoyao Build – Best Weapon
Since Yaoyao mostly operates in team compositions that need her to trigger Dendro reactions, building her with Elemental Mastery should be a priority. For that, Yaoyao best weapon in Genshin Impact is preferably a weapon with EM sub-stat. However, if players found her healing insufficient, then it’s fine to opt for HP Polearm like Black Tassel and Staff of Homa or Energy Recharge weapons to help her Burst more often.
- Kitain Cross Spear: It’s a great weapon for Yaoyao since it gives her everything she needs to perform her roles perfectly, especially in Nilou teams where Yaoyao is needed to Burst more often.
- Moonpiercer: It helps Yaoyao operate better as a support since it grants her more supportive abilities. This weapon is a good choice for Yaoyao when she’s supporting a DPS unit that scales with ATK%.
- Dragon’s Bane: Another Elemental Mastery Polearm, but less useful than Kitain in general.
- Favonius Lance: Although it’s ranked under a couple of EM Polearms, Favonius is one of Yaoyao best weapons in Genshin Impact. With this Polearm, Yaoyao will be able to slightly regenerate her team’s Bursts when she Crits.
- Engulfing Lightning: It grants Yaoyao some offensive ability alongside a good amount of ER to help her cast her Burst more frequently.
- Skyward Spine: Same case with Engulfing Lightning without the offensive ability.
- The Catch: Weapons that grant her Energy Recharge are not recommended if Yaoyao doesn’t have any Energy problems with her current build.
- Black Tassel: Since Yaoyao’s healing scale with HP, Black Tassel is a superb choice for a healer Yaoyao in Genshin Impact.
Yaoyao Build – Best Artifact
As a Dendro healer, Yaoyao can do more than just healing. She can operate as a buffer, debuffer, and even sub-DPS sometimes. This flexibility doesn’t come for free because players have to find the best Yaoyao build for each of her roles.
- 4-Deepwood Memories: As a support in Genshin Impact, Yaoyao can happily take the burden of carrying the Deepwood Memories set to shred enemies’ resistance and maximize the Dendro DPS of the party.
- 4-Tenacity of the Millelith: If the main DPS of her party isn’t Dendro, Yaoyao can actively proc Tenacity of the Millelith’s passive requirement to grant her team a stable 20% ATK buff.
- 4-Flower of Paradise Lost: For Yaoyao, this set is only useful in Nilou’s team compositions in Genshin Impact. The DMG bonus from Flower of Paradise Lost and Nilou’s buffs will allow Yaoyao to inflict some insane DMG during combat while she runs around with her Burst active.
- 4-Instructor: A solid choice since Elemental Mastery is a core stat in Dendro compositions.
Yaoyao Talent Priority In Genshin Impact
Yaoyao talent priority in Genshin Impact depends on how players are using her. If she’s just healing on-field character, then it’s Elemental Skill > Elemental Burst. If Yaoyao has sufficient Energy Recharge to Burst often, then it’d be worth prioritizing Burst over Skill. Meanwhile, if Travelers solely use Yaoyao to trigger Bloom, then character level should be maximized while talents can all be left at level one.
Yaoyao Talent Level Recommendation
- Normal Attack: 1
- Elemental Skill: 8 to 10
- Elemental Burst: 6 to 10
